Top Bay Area Persian Restaurants

salim m. Jul 29, 2007

Here is the guide to the Persian restaurants across the greater of the Bay Area. Most of these places are pretty decent but some better than the rest. My Favorite for the best Kabob is still Alborz in San Francisco of Van Ness and Sutter St. Enjoy!

Alborz is the best Persian Restaurant in SF. Still not to the same level as Persian restaurants in so-cal, but very good place. The service is tad spotty depending on the server you get.

crazy not to order:  Soltani
also try:  Meykadeh in North Beach area is another decent place
lunch speed:  11 to 15 min

Leila is a great kabob place for people who want something different and want it fast. Up on the third floors of Crocker Galleria Good fresh persian food at a reasonably fast time. just wait in line order what you want pay and take your food back to office or eat at the Crocker Galleria eating area. The protions and the quality is not as good as what you might get with Alborz but neither is the price or the wait....

crazy not to order:  Chicken Shish Kabob
lunch speed:  5 to 10 min

2134 San Ramon Valley Blvd.
San Ramon , , CA94583

If you are in East Bay around San Ramon and Dublin area, you can count on consistently decent Persian kabobs at Shiraz Restaurant. Easy access and parings are a plus as well. That said, I think some of the finest LA area Persian restaurants are definitely better. But if your Persian palate is only used to the bay area Persian restaurants, you will not be too disappointed.

crazy not to order:  Shiraz for two gives you a good variety to try out
