"A friend had been given a carvery course at Simpson's as a Christmas gift. He had to get there early - we were invited to turn up at 12:30 to witness his new skills and enjoy a traditional Sunday roast! Simpson's serves what is simply the best roast beef lunch; try the lamb or the turkey if you must, but it's the beef where they excel. Don't expect fast service (especially from the novice carvers!), everything else is impeccable. The place is not at all stuffy and remarkably informal. The staff are friendly and helpful. Go there to enjoy a very pleasant meal, in a delightful atmosphere, which can last all afternoon!"

"We ate at Simpson's when we were on our honeymoon, and since then whenever we are in London, we make it a point to dine there. It has been serving the finest roast beef, Yorkshire pudding, and other traditional British fare for well over a century, and its standards are higher than ever. The atmosphere in the large oak dining room is as English as one can get, and the impeccable service fully matches it. There is even a particularly comfortable lounge bar in which to wait if you are ahead of your booking time. This is a real splurge, but worth it in every possible way. No wonder it is often listed as one of the world's great restaurants."
