"It's amazing what good food you'll find when you step off Castro just a few yards. Most joints on Castro ("joints" in the truest sense) only persist due to their location. Sushi Tomi persists because of its straightforward approach to the art. If you want an old-fashioned sushi bar that you can belly-up to, Sushi Tomi is moderately priced and works. The bento boxes seemed especially popular on the lunch shift."
